Way Elementary School
At Way Elementary, our guiding principles are:
- Prioritizing students' focus on learning over mere tasks
- Teaching for genuine understanding rather than rote knowledge
- Fostering deep learning strategies instead of surface-level memorization
- Encouraging independence over reliance on others
- Nurturing a growth mindset that values development over fixed abilities
Meet Way's Therapy Dog, Marge
Marge holds a special place in the hearts of everyone at Way School, where she has become an adored and cherished therapy dog. Her presence has been a constant source of joy and positivity, enriching the school community ever since she became a part of our family in the 2022-23 school year. A school therapy dog is a specially trained and certified dog that is brought into a school environment to provide emotional support, comfort, and various therapeutic benefits to students, teachers, and staff.
International Baccalaureate
We utilize inquiry-based instructional practices that build on children's natural curiosity and encourage students to use critical thinking skills, reflect on their learning and compassionately develop solutions for real-world problems.
Kindness Crew
Way initiated a 4th grade Kindness Crew, convening monthly to foster positivity and kindness through projects. Activities included crafting hidden encouraging notes in library books and creating paper quilt pieces showcasing family traditions for the school.
